The Sacramento Bee reported on 8/5/06 that the California Industrial Welfare Commission deadlocked on a proposal to raise the California minimum wage - to $9.78(!). There are a number of proposed bills to raise the minimum wage, as this 8/4 Sacramento Bee article reports. I would think there will be some kind of minimum wage increase. The last one was in 2002.
